Wall Shelf

​The Halcyon bookshelf is inspired by Norwegian Tine boxes, which are made with bent wood, and occasionally adorned with Rosemailing, a style of painting originating from the 1700's. The flowing lines and curved planes of the Tine boxes I grew up surrounded with were abstracted to create the form of the shelf. The wooden shelf was then enveloped in leather, which together, are meant to evoke a felling of continuity and calm.
